Qlik's Visualize Your World tour 2017 kicked off in Silicon Valley, where CMO Rick Jackson discussed how companies need to not only be data-driven, but to shift into having a “data driven culture”. One example Rick shared was a recent survey showing how companies are prioritizing hiring new talent with advanced data skills. However, the key is that companies can’t just hire the talent and claim they are data-driven. They also need to empower and train the existing employees to strengthen the skillset across the organization in all functions.
We also heard from Muliady Hartono, Analytics Manager from McKesson, who discussed how Qlik is being used in their organization. He remarked that Qlik Sense was intuitive, fast, flexible, low maintenance and a “turning point” for their organization.
I had the chance to attend the event in Boston, where Hologic CIO David Ruzinsky remarked that “I’ll admit it: Qlik fell into my lap! I opposed change at first, but once I saw what it could really do for us I said: ‘Let’s do it!’”
