Qlik is searching for a Technical Architect with broad and deep knowledge of server-side and integration technology, along with strong communications skills and consulting services experience. Our ideal candidate will work with senior IT executives and alongside enterprise architects at our largest customers, designing BI platforms that are secure, reliable and can scale to many thousands of users. Our customers will entrust you to understand their business challenges and to map out relevant technical solutions that smoothly integrate Qlik’s BI platforms within their current environment. As an Architect, you will be comfortable helping our customers integrate a variety of server, database, network and middle-tier technologies to support their data visualization and analytics needs. You will learn and ultimately teach customers how to integrate QlikView and Qlik Sense with third-party products and leverage private/public cloud platforms to support high performance and availability.  You will also need to be comfortable with “dev-ops” methodologies, scripting (e.g. PowerShell), security integration and so on.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS according to Strategic Business Plan                                              


The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include the following:

  • Design and help deliver technical solutions that integrate the Qlik platforms with customers’ enterprise systems
  • Assist customers with auto-provisioning of Qlik deployments for both Cloud (Azure, AWS etc.) and On-premise
  • Lead technical architecture and design sessions, and create technical architecture and design documents.
  • Lead a technical architecture track, providing direction to and mentoring other technical resources and colleagues
  • Solve client technical issues and coach customers’ technical staff to implement their solutions, leveraging other Qlik resources such as education and support
  • Provide hands-on assistance to clients and colleagues for understanding technical concepts related to Qlik in-memory data discovery solutions
  • Manage technical scope and client expectations for various projects
  • Participate in new business development efforts, working directly with account teams to evangelize innovative business and technical solutions

Qualifications and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or related technical field, or related industry experience


  • Business level English and Dutch mandatory; familiarity with other languages will be an advantage as this will be a EMEA-wide role



  • 5-15 years’ experience managing internal and/or external clients in positions of increasing responsibility in the delivery of large infrastructure solutions, including server, storage and network infrastructure planning; user authentication and authorization; data acquisition and governance; and system integration
  • Experience with relational database systems and data management, including connectivity to SQL and/or NoSQL data sources
  • Experience with administering Microsoft Windows server platforms (Windows 2008, 2012) and Web servers (IIS, others). Familiar with server virtualization and clustering
  • Experience with Windows Server security as well as Internet security standards
  • Understanding of Internet protocols, such as HTTP/S, TCP/IP, UDP and Websockets
  • Understanding of networking devices such as Reverse Proxies and Firewalls
  • Experienced with AD and LDAP-based user and group management services
  • Experienced with federated authentication and authorization schemes, such as SAML
  • Experienced with auto-deployment of Windows-based software, including integration with technologies such as PowerShell, Puppet and Chef


  • Knowledge and experience with Business Intelligence tools, such as IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects, Oracle (OBIEE), Tableau, and/or Spotfire
  • Knowledge of ETL tools, such as Informatica and Data Stage
  • Experienced with integrating large enterprise systems for CRM, ERP and HR (, Oracle, SAP R/3, etc)
  • Familiar with Big Data concepts, product and tools (Hadoop, MapReduce, etc), including available commercial and open-source components
  • Knowledge of enterprise security and single sign-on products, such as CA SiteMinder
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and provisioning tools, such as Amazon EC2
  • Familiar with performance testing methodologies and tools

Job Requirements

          Must be willing to travel extensively all over EMEA to customer sites for short-term engagements
